2/16/08 - We got to experience the Plateau and the Big South Fork at a great level of around 1300cfs. This was Julie, Kaylan, and my first trip to the BSF. The water was amazing and at times a bright green. The rocks and canyon walls were just spectacular.
We had the great fortune of hooking up with Jim and Dave from Nashville who really showed us the way down. Great set of guys and a blast to paddle with. Again more great people that are paddlers. I am just amazed at how many we have met so far.
We really didn't snap any photos on the run but we did capture a couple of the Hand Rock.

Cool isn't it?
We paddled eight miles from Burnt Mill Bridge, two miles above the Confluence, to the Leatherwood Ford. There was some great action in the middle with the Ell, Double Drop, Washing Machine, and Jake's Hole. This run holds great after the rain and I think we'll be back to run the same section again real soon!!
