Caving Again - Camps Gulf Caves

We have found a great set of caves. Camps Gulf by Sparta TN is a great cave with huge rooms. You'll shove yourself through tiny crevices then enter a huge room with tons of scramble. By huge rooms, I mean Superdome size. The third room is so large, we cannot see the other walls. When other cavers are in the room you begin to see the grand scale, and pictures can't capture it. Here are some pics of the tight spots.

It's such a great feeling to be crammed between rocks shoving yourself down a narrow pass to find the next room.

After a great two trips into this cave we just keep finding more. Last trip we found the largest room and there’s still plenty to explore.

After leaving Camps Gulf, the main cave, we scouted out Camps Gulf 2. This tight cave has some great potential but we will need some rope to push it further. This caving stuff is fun! We'll be going back soon!!

Ireland!

Looks like we'll be making a trip to the mother land in March!

Julie and I were inspired to look into some travel and have always wanted to see Ireland. So the seed was planted and plans were made. We'll be heading out at the end of March and we coudln't be more thrilled!

Rock Island...

70 degrees in January and we didn't take our boats. Bone head move but we had fun scouting the run. Looks like some great play!

Caving...

Found something else of interest out here.... Caving! Fairly simple, find hole crawl in, take extra batteries for your head lamp, and be prepared to get dirty. It was great fun.
