BSF Weekend

Had a great weekend and got a great workout. Friday we headed to Nemo to get a little bouldering in. This was great and we've now decided it's our new Tuesday outing. Pictorious...

In bouldering you work problems only as high as you don't mind falling. A crash pad helps ease the landing. Good fun and a great workout.

Then on Saturday we headed out to the Big South Fork with our play boats. Had a great run and found tons of play.

Then after camping that night, on Sunday we took in the Honey Creek Loop trail also there in the Big South Fork area. This trail was kick ass. You first head down some ladders from the overlook down to the creek level. Then you hike back up the creek. It was only a 4 mile trail but it was tough. Plenty of water crossings, great views, and caves. We had a ball. Here are some pics...
Overall Epic weekend. Had a blast. Great company too, Andy, Tom, David, and Tisha. Gotta love Knoxville!

Sorry to us from us to you or just me...

Well I have been avoiding typing anything in this blog for quite some time now. It's been crazy at work and on the weekends we escape to the plug less unwired wilderness. I work on a computer all day and it seems like the last thing I want to do in the evenings is blog...but I do miss it.

So how are you? How have you been? Staying busy as well I hope. Life is a great gift and we sure have been loving it and I hope you've been living it up as well.

Anyway, we have been busy little bees indeed. Over the last couple of months we have had some great new river trips. Including Daddy Creek, Crab Orchard, and Clear Creek. Crab is the bomb diggity. This weekend Julie is in a creeking class and I hope to hit section IV of the Chatooga and the Tallulah! I'm nervous...

We have gotten to do a couple of back packing trips to the Savage Gulf area. Those were great and encompassed about 33 miles in four days with overnight gear. I love hiking and look forward to more next fall...

We have been partaking in a monthly concert called Tennessee Shines downtown. It is typically bluegrass music but has had a mix of other talent as well. Some great bands and good times have been had there the last Wednesday of every month. Favorites of mine have been the Duchs, and the Hackensaw Boys.

We also got to see one of our favorite musicians, Michael Franti, when he came to town. Hands down best concert I have ever been to. Wonderful music and a hell of a guy.

Then just last week we took a "holiday" to Ireland. Oh what a cool place that was. Of course we took tons of pics and ate way too much. Great trip.

So that is a quick wrap up. I'll try to post more later. Keep getting outdoors and we'd love to hear from you as well!
