Paddle on the Pigeon

pigeon 6.7.07 026

Well we had some successful interviews this morning and felt a little giddy. Sooo we did what we do, we went paddling. The river we hit today was the upper Pigeon. This run is fed by dam water and runs almost all summer, for the most part. The drive is about an hour fifteen minutes so great for the afternoon or weekend jaunts.

To be honest, we didn’t expect such a good paddle. I don’t know what we expected but it surely was above our expectations. This run was filled with great III+ rapids and aggressive lines. We took a couple pics but being there was entirely different. We really look forward to getting to know this river.

For the most part we just bombed down the run. We did meet up with a NOC instructor who led us down Accelerator, the last major rapid and second largest. Great guy and an even better run. Click on above picture for more pics.

Good times. Next is the Ocoee this weekend. Man I can get used to this….
